CHAPTER 1 ~ Picturing Eden

Snap to Chapter One ~ Picturing Eden

In the first Chapter of this book, we explore a little bit of what Eden means, both in general World View and Biblical World View. Eden, simply in Hebrew language mean ‘PLEASURE’.

It’s very important to note that, the garden was purposely created for God ALONE! God saw it would be okay to also let man freely enjoy what belongs to Him. So, after creating the man, He put him in the garden to ‘take charge’.

Also, the way this said garden was constructed, it’s relationship with other things that exist in it was so cordial that nothing is missing in terms of communication – everything is fitly jointed with the other. Communication, coherency, understanding and prudence was part of the bedrock in the relationship settings that readily fuse up the garden of Eden.

Can we assume that Adam was able to hear and speak with the trees and other plants in the garden…even animals! The reason this could only be possible is the fact that, he’s a perfect being acting just like God would personally function in the garden – God trusted him that much, as he’s able to carry out God’s mission.

Sadly, the devil was seeing all these qualities in Adam but Adam was not really seeing deeper things about himself and all he possesses as a quality, else he would’ve seriously guarded it jealously. Hence, the devil planned to stylishly bring Adam down – he succeeded!

#Insight:
The devil is actually after what you carry and one of the primary tools he uses is called ‘ENCHANTMENT’ – “A truth stylishly crafted out of a LIE”. In other words, we could also refer to it as “Holding the truth in Unrighteousness” (Rom.1:18). Now listen to this: The devil do not always come to you in absolute LIE. He comes to you with an “half truth” and gives you an option to choose a lie without your awareness, based on your KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD OF GODVulnerability of The Word. How you succeed or fail is dependent upon the level of your understanding of God’s words. How vast are you in the word of God? What’s your understanding about the instructions(God’s word) set before you by God, His promises for you as you roam this dangerous world?

A very good case study is the test of our Lord Jesus Christ – how the devil tested Him on the platform of God’s Word (Matt.4). The devil did not present his case to our Lord Jesus Christ based on other stuffs, other than the scriptures, setting up a Test Of Identity to really know if He truly understands who He’s.

The same thing you need to know about your environment and who you are. What’s the purpose of life? Why am I here? What’s my purpose here? What actually has God created me for?

If all these are not truthfully defined, then you most definitely do not understand RELATIONSHIP, as it involves you and your environment. Remember, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof…” (Ps.24)
